A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
Willie Maxwell II (born June 7, 1991), better known by his stage name Fetty Wap, is an American hip hop recording artist from Paterson, New Jersey. He rose to prominence with his 2014 breakout single "Trap Queen", which was a sleeper hit that peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in May 2015. The success of "Trap Queen" helped Fetty Wap secure a record deal with 300 Entertainment and a distribution deal with Atlantic Records. He subsequently released the Top 40 hits "679", "My Way" and "Again". Fetty Wap's eponymously titled debut album was released in September 2015 and reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Willie Maxwell was born on June 7, 1991 and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. He began taking interest in music in 2013. Initially starting off as only a rapper, he later decided to start singing as well because he "wanted to do something different". He was nicknamed "Fetty" (slang for money) as he was known for making money. "Wap" was added to the end of the name to perform under in tribute to Gucci Mane's alias, GuWop. When he was a child, Maxwell developed glaucoma in both eyes. He revealed in a 2015 interview that doctors were unable to save his left eye and instead fitted him with an ocular prosthesis.
Bradley Brandon (born September 1, 1988), better known by the alias Doughboy Beatz, is an American record producer from Columbus, Mississippi. He has produced for artists such as Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, Soulja Boy, Waka Flocka Flame, Ace Hood, Juicy J, Lil Boosie, Cyhi Da Prynce and OJ Da Juiceman among others.

After years honing his new craft, he began his production career by putting his work on SoundClick - a music-based community that allows artists to promote, stream, and sell their songs. Within a year, he landed his first major placement via SoundClick in producing Jive Records/Hitz Committee rapper Trai'D's infectious party number and breakout single "Gutta Chick". Shortly after in 2008, he inked a publishing deal with Ultra International Music Publishing.

Over the years, RBMA has brought together artists for joint lectures on the couch. For our Festival New York in 2016, it was the turn of three beatmakers from hip hop’s biggest hit-making city of recent vintage: Atlanta. ATL favorite sons Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital and Zaytoven appeared at Red Bull Studios New York, discussing their early influences and breakout hits, the rise of trap and the producer drop, and their approach to sampling and collaboration. Their hits include work for Future, Drake, Migos, iLoveMakonnen and many, many more. The Red Bull Music Academy is a global music institution committed to fostering creativity in music. We celebrate music, its culture, and the transformative minds behind it. Begun in 1998, the Academy has taken the core principles that underlie its ann...

Metro Boomin's headlining set on the first night of The FADER FORT Presented By Converse was one of the week's highlights—a full-on party featuring special appearances from DJ Esco, SheLovesMeechie, and Lil Uzi Vert. But before Metro led the amped-up crowd in a fervent, word-for-word Future singalong, he chopped it up backstage with Madeintyo. The young rapper was still coming down from an earlier FADER FORT performance of his own, during which he announced a forthcoming collaborative project with Metro called Madeinboomin. To get an important detail out of the way, the pair confirmed Metro's trust in Tyo. Then they talked about the wildest Snapchat Metro has ever received, his first big hit, and his impeccable taste in vintage glasses. http://www.thefader.com/2016/03/23/metroboomin-madei...

When the ATLien was in New York he came by the HotNewHipHop offices and sat down for a series of Quick5 questions. He speaks on who he works with the most (he says Future), as well as what the Atlanta hip-hop scene is like at the moment.
